Terms of Use

Please read these Terms carefully. By using DatenUS, you agree to them.

Last updated: Oct 22, 2026Previous versions: Oct 17, 2026; Oct 15, 2026; Oct 11, 2026

Important: These Terms include a binding individual arbitration agreement and a waiver of class actions and jury trials (section 21), a limitation of our liability (section 18), and a one-year time limit to bring claims (section 23). You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days, as explained in section 21. Data on the Site is read automatically from government sources and may contain errors. Always verify it with the official source.

1. Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and ISCT LLC ("ISCT LLC," "we," "us" or "our"). They govern your access to and use of datenus.com, its subdomains and related sites (such as biz.datenus.com, energy.datenus.com, jobs.datenus.com and ai.datenus.com), and every page, feature, file, feed, map, form and service we offer on them (together, the "Site").

  • Agreement by use. By visiting, browsing or otherwise using any part of the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy, Disclaimer and Advertising Disclosure, which are part of these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
  • Agreement by click. When we ask you to check a box, click a button or submit a form that refers to these Terms (for example, when you acknowledge our site notice, send us a request or apply to advertise), that action is your electronic signature and confirms your agreement.
  • Authority. If you use the Site for a business or other organization, you agree to these Terms for that organization and confirm that you have authority to do so. "You" then includes that organization.
  • Other terms. Advertisers also agree to our Advertiser Terms. If those terms conflict with these Terms on an advertising matter, the Advertiser Terms control.

2. Who we are

DatenUS is a brand name. DatenUS is operated by ISCT LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company. DatenUS is a free information website that collects public data released by U.S. federal, state and local government agencies and other open data publishers, and organizes it by location and topic. We are not a government agency. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any agency, business or person whose data or name appears on the Site, and nothing on the Site is an official government record or notice.

3. Who may use the Site

The Site is intended for a general adult audience. You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to use the Site or to send us anything, unless a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms for you. The Site is not directed to children under 13. You may not use the Site if you are barred from doing so under any applicable law.

4. Where our data comes from and how accurate it is

Most information on the Site comes from government sources, such as federal agency APIs, open data portals, public notices and downloadable files. Our servers read, download, parse, match, geocode, combine, summarize and display this data automatically, usually without a person reviewing each record. Because of that:

  • Data may contain errors that come from the original source, such as typos, outdated entries, missing records, wrong locations or wrong categories.
  • Data may also contain errors that come from our own reading, processing or display, such as a record matched to the wrong place, a field read incorrectly, a unit or date converted incorrectly, a calculation or ranking that is wrong, a stale copy that has not been refreshed, or a page that shows the wrong item.
  • Agencies update, correct, delay and withdraw data on their own schedules. Information on the Site may be out of date even when it shows a recent "Data as of" date, and it may not match current conditions.
  • Summaries, explanations, labels, scores, maps, estimates, comparisons and rankings are our own simplified presentation of the data. They are not official findings and may leave out details that matter to you.

We do not guarantee that any information on the Site is accurate, complete, current, reliable or suitable for any purpose. You are responsible for verifying any information with the official source before you rely on it. We link to sources wherever we can and list them on our Data Sources page. If you find an error, please report it. We may, but are not required to, correct it.

5. Not professional advice, not for emergencies

Everything on the Site is general information only. Nothing on the Site is medical, health, legal, financial, investment, tax, accounting, credit, real estate, appraisal, insurance, engineering, environmental, safety or other professional advice, and no professional relationship of any kind is created by your use of the Site. Do not use the Site as a substitute for a licensed professional. Provider listings, hospital ratings, school data, crime statistics, home values, recalls, auction listings and similar information are not recommendations, endorsements, appraisals, inspections, determinations or guarantees.

The Site is not an emergency service and must not be used in an emergency. Weather alerts, earthquake reports, disaster information, air quality, recalls and similar pages may be delayed, incomplete or wrong and are not official warnings. In an emergency, call 911. For weather and hazards, follow the National Weather Service (weather.gov), your local emergency management office and other public safety officials. If you are in crisis, call or text 988.

6. Not a consumer reporting agency

DatenUS is not a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. (the "FCRA"), and the Site does not provide consumer reports, background checks, people search, tenant screening, employment screening or any similar service. You may not use the Site or any information from it, in whole or in part, as a factor in determining any person's eligibility for credit, insurance, employment, housing or rental (including tenant screening), a license or government benefit, or for any other purpose covered by the FCRA or any similar state law. If you do, you are solely responsible for that use and for complying with the law.

7. Your permission to use the Site

Subject to these Terms, we give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable permission to access and view the Site in a normal web browser, to print or save individual pages for your own reference, and to share links to pages or quote small portions with a clear credit to DatenUS and a link to the page. Every other use requires our written permission. We may withdraw this permission at any time.

8. Prohibited uses

You agree that you will not, and will not help or allow anyone else to:

  • scrape, crawl, spider or bulk download the Site or any part of it, or use bots, scripts, headless browsers, data extraction tools or similar automated means to access, copy, index or collect content, except for public search engines that follow our robots.txt file and crawl at a reasonable rate;
  • copy, republish, sell, resell, license, rent, frame, mirror or otherwise commercially exploit the Site, its database, or any compilation, selection or arrangement of its content, or build a competing product or database from it;
  • use any content from the Site to train, fine-tune, evaluate or ground any artificial intelligence or machine learning model, or to build a dataset for that purpose, without our prior written permission;
  • get around, disable or interfere with any security feature, rate limit, bot check, access restriction or technical measure, use proxies or rotating addresses to avoid a block, or access any part of the Site that is not meant for you;
  • overload, attack, probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the Site, or send viruses, malware or harmful code;
  • use the Site for any purpose covered by the FCRA, as described in section 6;
  • harass, stalk, threaten, intimidate, dox, defame or discriminate against anyone, or use information about any person or place to cause harm, invade privacy or locate someone who does not want to be found;
  • use the Site in a way that violates any law, regulation or someone else's rights, including privacy, publicity and intellectual property rights;
  • present the Site or its content as an official government source, or remove, hide or change any source note, date, disclaimer, label or notice;
  • impersonate anyone, send false or misleading reports or requests, or send spam through our forms;
  • use the Site to send unsolicited advertising, or collect email addresses or other contact details for that purpose.

We may monitor use of the Site, block access and take legal action for any of these activities. Automated access that ignores our robots.txt file or these Terms is unauthorized.

9. Our content and third-party data

Much of the government data on the Site is in the public domain. Some data, such as maps and place listings from OpenStreetMap and Overture Maps, is provided under open licenses that require attribution; we list those licenses on our Data Sources page, and those licenses govern that data. Everything else on the Site, including its design, text we write, code, graphics, logos, the DatenUS name, and the way we select, organize, combine and present information, belongs to ISCT LLC or its licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, database and other laws. Except for the limited permission in section 7, no rights are granted to you.

10. Things you send us

When you send us anything through the Site, such as a message, correction, removal request, comment, idea, image or ad creative (a "Submission"), you promise that you have the right to send it, that it is accurate, and that it does not violate the law or anyone's rights. Except for ad creative, which is covered by the Advertiser Terms, you give us a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, copy, store, modify and act on your Submission to operate and improve the Site and to respond to you. We are not required to keep Submissions confidential, use them, or pay you for them. Do not send us confidential, health or financial information. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information in Submissions.

11. Corrections and removal requests

If you see something wrong, or if information about you appears on the Site and you would like it hidden or corrected, use Remove or Correct My Info. We review requests and reply by email. We decide in our discretion whether and how to change the Site, and we cannot change the original government record.

Business owners and managers can ask to update a business listing with "Update this listing" on that page. By sending an update, you confirm that you own or manage the business or are authorized to act for it, and that the information is true and not misleading. We confirm your email address, review each request before it is published, and may decline or later reverse any change. Approved updates may stay on the Site even when the public record changes. We never ask for a tax ID, Social Security number or payment to update a listing. Sending false information, or a request for a business you do not represent, violates these Terms.

12. Advertising

The Site is supported by advertising that we sell directly. Ads are labeled "Sponsored." We review ads before they run, but we do not endorse and are not responsible for any advertiser, its products, services, claims or websites. Your dealings with advertisers are solely between you and them. Advertisers agree to our separate Advertiser Terms. See also our Advertising Disclosure.

The Site links to government websites, businesses, map and directions services, and other third-party sites and services. We do not control them, and we are not responsible for their content, accuracy, availability, terms, privacy practices, products or services. A link does not mean we endorse the site. You use third-party sites at your own risk and under their own terms.

14. Copyright complaints (DMCA)

We respect intellectual property rights and respond to notices of alleged infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512. To report material you believe infringes your copyright, follow the procedure on our Copyright and DMCA page. We may remove or disable access to material, and we terminate the access of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances.

15. Third-party information and Section 230

Much of the Site consists of information provided by government agencies, other publishers, businesses, advertisers and users, which we republish automatically. Under 47 U.S.C. § 230, ISCT LLC is not the publisher or speaker of information provided by another information content provider, and it is not liable for that information or for any good faith action to restrict access to material it considers objectionable. Nothing in these Terms waives any protection we have under Section 230 or any other law.

16. Privacy and children

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect and how we use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

17. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SITE AND ALL INFORMATION, DATA, CONTENT, FEATURES AND SERVICES ON IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ISCT LLC DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, RELIABILITY, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, QUIET ENJOYMENT AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTIES ARISING FROM COURSE OF DEALING OR USAGE OF TRADE.

WITHOUT LIMITING THE ABOVE, WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SITE OR ITS DATA IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT, THAT ERRORS WILL BE CORRECTED, THAT THE SITE WILL BE AVAILABLE, UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS, OR THAT IT WILL MEET YOUR NEEDS. YOU USE THE SITE AND RELY ON ITS INFORMATION ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK. Some states do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you; in that case they apply to the fullest extent your state allows.

18. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL ISCT LLC OR ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, CONTRACTORS, AGENTS, LICENSORS, DATA PROVIDERS OR SERVICE PROVIDERS (THE "ISCT LLC PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, BUSINESS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE SERVICES, OR FOR ANY PERSONAL INJURY, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR OTHER LOSS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE, ITS INFORMATION, ANY ERROR OR OMISSION IN ANY DATA, ANY DECISION OR ACTION YOU TAKE IN RELIANCE ON THE SITE, ANY THIRD-PARTY SITE, ADVERTISER OR CONTENT, OR THESE TERMS, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, STATUTE OR ANY OTHER THEORY, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE TOTAL LIABILITY OF THE ISCT LLC PARTIES FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SITE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED AS FOLLOWS: (A) IF YOU USE THE SITE FOR FREE, ZERO U.S. DOLLARS ($0), BECAUSE THE SITE IS PROVIDED TO YOU AT NO CHARGE; AND (B) IF YOU ARE AN ADVERTISER, THE TOTAL FEES YOU ACTUALLY PAID US FOR ADVERTISING DURING THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT THAT GAVE RISE TO THE CLAIM. IF A COURT OR ARBITRATOR DECIDES THAT THE LIMIT IN (A) CANNOT BE ENFORCED, THE LIMIT FOR THAT CLAIM IS ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100).

These limits are an essential part of the bargain between you and us and apply even if a remedy fails of its essential purpose. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of these limits may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, such as liability for fraud or for gross negligence or willful misconduct where the law does not allow it to be limited.

19. Release

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the ISCT LLC Parties from all claims, demands and damages of every kind, known and unknown, arising out of or related to (a) any error, omission, delay or inaccuracy in any data or information on the Site, (b) any decision or action you take based on the Site, and (c) any dispute between you and an advertiser, business, agency, other user or any other third party. If you are a California resident, you waive California Civil Code § 1542, which says: "A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party." You waive any similar law in any other state.

20. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you will defend, indemnify and hold harmless the ISCT LLC Parties from and against all claims, demands, suits, losses, liabilities, damages, fines, penalties, costs and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to (a) your use or misuse of the Site or its information, (b) your Submissions, (c) your violation of these Terms, (d) your violation of any law or anyone else's rights, including any use for an FCRA purpose, and (e) any automated access, scraping or reuse of Site content by you or on your behalf. We may take over the defense of any claim at your expense, and you will cooperate with us. You will not settle any claim that affects us without our written consent.

21. Dispute resolution and binding arbitration

PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY. IT REQUIRES YOU AND US TO RESOLVE DISPUTES BY BINDING INDIVIDUAL ARBITRATION, AND IT LIMITS HOW YOU CAN SEEK RELIEF. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO TAKE PART IN A CLASS ACTION.

a. Informal resolution first

Before starting arbitration or a small claims case, the party with a dispute must send the other a written notice that describes the dispute, the relief requested and the sender's name and email address. Send notices to us at [email protected]. We will send notices to the email address we have for you. For 60 days after the notice is received, the parties will try in good faith to resolve the dispute, including by a phone or video call if either party asks. Any time limit to bring the claim is paused during this period. A party that does not complete this step may not start arbitration.

b. Agreement to arbitrate

Except as stated in subsection (c), you and ISCT LLC agree that any dispute, claim or controversy arising out of or relating to the Site, these Terms, the Advertiser Terms, our Privacy Policy, any advertising or any other dealings between you and us, including the scope, validity, enforceability or arbitrability of this agreement to arbitrate (a "Dispute"), will be resolved by final and binding arbitration on an individual basis. The arbitrator, and not any court, has exclusive authority to decide all Disputes, including threshold questions of arbitrability, except that a court decides questions about the class action waiver in subsection (e) and the batching procedure in subsection (g). This agreement is governed by the Federal Arbitration Act, 9 U.S.C. § 1 et seq.

c. Exceptions

  • Small claims. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court in the county where you live or in Wyoming, as long as the claim stays in that court and is not removed or appealed to a court of general jurisdiction.
  • Intellectual property and misuse. Either party may seek an injunction or other equitable relief in court to stop infringement or misuse of its intellectual property, or to stop unauthorized access, scraping or interference with the Site.

d. Rules, fees and location

The arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, or, for an advertiser or any other business claim, its Commercial Arbitration Rules, as modified by these Terms. The rules are available at adr.org. A single arbitrator will decide the Dispute. Payment of filing, administrative and arbitrator fees will be governed by the AAA rules, except that for a consumer claim we will pay any part of your filing fee that exceeds the fee to file a lawsuit in the court that would otherwise have jurisdiction, unless the arbitrator finds your claim frivolous or brought for an improper purpose. If your claim is for $10,000 or less, you may choose whether the arbitration is decided on written submissions only, by phone or video, or in person. Any in-person hearing will be held in the county where you live or another place we agree on. The arbitrator may award any individual relief that a court could award under these Terms and applicable law, including the limits in section 18, but only in favor of the individual party seeking relief and only to the extent needed to provide relief for that party's individual claim. The arbitrator's award is final and may be entered in any court with jurisdiction.

e. Class action and jury trial waiver

YOU AND ISCT LLC EACH AGREE THAT ANY DISPUTE WILL BE RESOLVED ONLY ON AN INDIVIDUAL BASIS, AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, CONSOLIDATED, REPRESENTATIVE OR PRIVATE ATTORNEY GENERAL ACTION OR ARBITRATION. The arbitrator may not combine more than one person's claims, except as described in subsection (g), and may not preside over any form of class or representative proceeding. YOU AND WE EACH WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO A TRIAL BY JURY for any Dispute, including any Dispute that is decided in court. If a court decides that this class action waiver is unenforceable for a particular claim or request for relief (such as public injunctive relief), then that claim or request, and only that claim or request, will be severed and decided in court under section 22, after the individual arbitration is finished, and all other claims will be arbitrated.

f. 30-day right to opt out

You may opt out of this agreement to arbitrate by emailing [email protected] with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days after you first use the Site or first agree to these Terms (whichever is earlier). Include your name, the email address you use with us (if any), and a clear statement that you opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, the rest of these Terms still apply, and Disputes will be decided in court under section 22. Opting out of this agreement has no effect on any other arbitration agreement you have with us.

g. Mass arbitration and batching

If 25 or more demands for arbitration that raise similar claims are filed against us by or with the help of the same or coordinated counsel or organizations ("Mass Filing"), the AAA Mass Arbitration Supplementary Rules will apply where available, and the demands will be administered and decided in batches of no more than 50 demands each, with one arbitrator per batch, one set of filing and administrative fees per batch, and a single award per batch that covers each claimant in it. Batches will be decided one at a time, and no new batch will begin until the previous batch is resolved, unless the parties agree otherwise. The parties will work in good faith with the AAA on an efficient process, and a court may enforce this subsection. Any time limit to bring a claim that is part of a Mass Filing is paused while that claim waits for its batch. If this subsection is found unenforceable for a Mass Filing, the claims in that Mass Filing will be decided in court under section 22, not in arbitration.

h. Changes to this section

If we change this section after you first agree to these Terms, you may reject the change by emailing us within 30 days after it takes effect. In that case, the most recent version of this section that you accepted will continue to apply to Disputes between you and us.

22. Governing law and venue

These Terms, and any Dispute, are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of laws rules, except that the Federal Arbitration Act governs section 21. For any Dispute that is not subject to arbitration (including a claim severed from arbitration, a claim by someone who opted out, or an action to compel arbitration or to confirm, modify or vacate an award), you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state courts located in the State of Wyoming and the United States District Court for the District of Wyoming, and waive any objection based on inconvenient forum. This does not prevent a small claims case under section 21(c).

23. Time limit to bring a claim

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to the Site or these Terms must be filed within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arose, or it is permanently barred.

24. Suspension and termination

We may suspend, limit or end your access to all or part of the Site at any time, for any reason or no reason, with or without notice, including if we believe you have violated these Terms or the law, or if your traffic looks automated. We may also block IP addresses, networks and devices. Sections that by their nature should survive (including sections 4, 6, 8, 9, 10 and 17 through 26) survive any termination.

25. Changes to the Site and these Terms

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Site, including any data set or feature, at any time without liability to you. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date, and for significant changes we will post a notice on the Site. Changes take effect when posted, except that changes to section 21 work as described in section 21(h) and changes do not apply to a Dispute that was already the subject of a notice under section 21(a). Your continued use of the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, stop using the Site.

26. General terms

  • Severability. If any part of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, that part will be enforced to the maximum extent possible or limited as needed, and the rest of these Terms will remain in full effect, except as stated in section 21(e) and (g).
  • Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the policies they refer to and, for advertisers, the Advertiser Terms, are the entire agreement between you and us about the Site and replace any earlier agreements or statements on that subject.
  • No waiver. Our failure or delay in enforcing any part of these Terms is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights under them without our written consent. We may assign or transfer these Terms, in whole or in part, without notice, including to an affiliate or in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
  • Force majeure. We are not liable for any delay or failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, epidemics, war, terrorism, civil unrest, labor disputes, government action, changes in or outages of government data sources, failures of the internet, utilities, hosting, network or other service providers, cyberattacks, or search engine changes.
  • Electronic communications. You agree that we may communicate with you electronically, including by email and by posting notices on the Site, and that these communications satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing.
  • No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms do not give any rights to anyone other than you and us, except that the ISCT LLC Parties may rely on sections 17 through 20.
  • Headings and interpretation. Headings are for convenience only. "Including" means "including without limitation." These Terms will not be construed against the party that drafted them.
  • Your rights under law. Some jurisdictions give consumers rights that cannot be waived or limited by contract. Nothing in these Terms is meant to take away any such right, and any provision is limited only as much as needed to comply with that law.
  • California users. Under California Civil Code § 1789.3, California users are entitled to the following notice: the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs may be contacted in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by telephone at (800) 952-5210. The Site is provided free of charge to visitors.

27. Contact and legal notices

Questions about these Terms, arbitration opt-outs, and other legal notices: [email protected]. You can also use our contact form. Notices that must be sent by mail may be sent to ISCT LLC, c/o ISCT LLC's registered agent in the State of Wyoming. The registered agent's mailing address is available on request at [email protected]. Notices to us are effective when we receive them.
