Component or System Failed: The outdoor kitchen slide-out retention assembly, specifically the factory vertical single drop-pin latch mechanism, aluminum mounting tracks, and slide rails. The trailer is currently in the shop waiting to be repaired. We have pictures of the damage and the what the failed pin look like. Safety Hazard & Risk to Others: While towing the 2022 inTech Flyer Explorer at normal roadway speeds on a public road, severe vibration caused the factory single vertical drop-pin retention mechanism to disengage. The entire pull-out kitchen box assembly disengaged from its housing, swung completely out into oncoming/adjacent traffic lanes, and struck a roadside mailbox. While no drivers or pedestrians were injured in this instance, a heavy structural slide swinging open into public traffic during transit presents an extreme, life-threatening highway safety hazard that could easily cause a multi-vehicle collision or fatality. Confirmation by Service Center / Dealer: The trailer is currently being evaluated by TerryTown RV (an authorized inTech dealership and service center), who is assessing the damage and repair it. On 9/28/26 we notified inTech about this incident, they just responded that the trailer is out of warranty and they are not responsible. People on different online forums has mentioned similar experiences. inTech is aware of the design failure of the older models since they had updated their newer model with a better locking system, but they failed to inform the potential danger to owner of the older models. Inspections Conducted: The damaged components have been inspected and documented via photos by the owner and our insurance (Meemic). Warning Signals Prior to Failure: No warnings as this is a mechanical latch defect on a towed trailer. The slide was confirmed fully stowed, pinned and locked prior to departure, but normal road vibration during transit allowed the single pin to bypass its locking position.

UNKNOWN There have been a few incidents of the welds on the axle and body frame failing and the axle separating during towing. These incidents happened to the owners of the RVs specifically the 2021 make and model Intech Sol Horizon. These owners reports their incidents on the Facebook page "The Official Intech Sol Horizon" group. Intech RV (The Manufacture) have been contacted and showed pictures of welds and responded that the welds are "completed correctly." I am not a certified welder or structural engineer, but several owners have the welds inspected by certified welders and was told that the welds are not sufficient. I'm reporting this on the behave of all the 2021 Intech Sol Horizon owners as it poses a safety risk on the owners and others around them. Based on the incidences that have occurred, the welds can fail at anytime. Attached are some pictures of weld failures, original welds that comes from the manufactures, welds that have been reinforced by third-party certified welders.

I have a 2020 InTech travel trailer. Twice, my doors have opened on the freeway, both the double back doors and the side door. The doors were double locked (two locks on each door, one, in theory, sort of a deadbolt.) The second time I had a strap on the inside to try to prevent them from opening. I am one of at least 25 people who have had this occur with the InTech travel trailers. I have names of each of them. Many of us have called InTech about it. Initially, they denied knowing it was happening. Then, they said they knew of a single instance, that was user error. They have paid a number of people for lost cargo due to this, they KNOW that there is a problem. Now, owners are fabricating things to block the doors from the outside, to keep them from opening. This, of course, removes egress if the doors are blocked from the outside. Most of us discovered this occurring after someone on the freeway flagged us down. InTech refuses to honor any repair (mine is in year one of three of the warranty) and keeps telling owners that they don't know anything about it. Others have had pop out kitchens come open underway and into traffic. Someone is going to be struck by airborne debris and killed. The consumer provided photos of trailer.

I have a safety concern with the factory installed roof rack system on my travel trailer. The welds on the aluminum tube cross members and post that mount directly to the frame have all cracked. The screws holding these parts together have also stripped out which has left the entire assembly loose on the top of the trailer. I noticed the issue only after unloading my kayaks off the rack coming back from my latest trip. I believe if left unnoticed, this has the potential for falling off under load and while traveling down the road causing a hazard to other drivers. I have contacted the manufacturer about the issue and had requested the calculations that prove that this roof rack system is safe and approved by an engineer. I have not received any reply other than quote for a new cross member at my expense.*dt*dt*jb
